Our Holiday Celebrations began with families informing us of their winter traditions and sharing those with the students.
First, we began a secret friend gift exchange. Each student drew a picture of one of their friends from a box and had to buy a present for that friend. We spent a lot of time talking about the joy of giving to others and brainstormed good presents.
On our way to the Dollar Tree to select our gifts.

Back in the classroom, we practiced wrapping and writing our friend's name on a gift tag.
Next, Bales Thriftway generously donated a tree to our classroom.
The students were very excited to see it and had fun decorating it together.
The Day before Winter Break we had a Holiday Celebration!
First, we practiced our Fine Motor Skills by making beaded Candy Canes!
Then we played some fun games!
And had some "Grinch-kabobs" - Yum!
Then, we exchanged the gifts from our Secret Friend exchange.
Everyone was really thrilled with the thoughtful gifts!
We ended our day with a Concert and Assembly.
Where we won the "Golden Basketball" Award for our great efforts in APE class!
